Experiments to extend the range of light an image can handle since an electronic sensor cannot come close the the human eye. HDR stands for high dynamic range - it covers light levels beyond what can be store in a JPEG or shown on a display. Three approaches tried here: 1) starting with an HDR with DDR (double the dynamic range of a JPEG) turned on, and llevels adjusted. 2) using bracketed images, blending an image correctly exposed for highlights with an image correctly exposed for shadows. 3) merging bracketed images into an HDR image and then tone mapping the result to a jpeg using Photomatix.
